How to invest in Real Estate in Argentina

The Infrastructure and Real Estate Committee of the AMCHAM (American Chamber of Commerce) has issued a document called “Real Estate Investments in Argentina – General Considerations”. It is a doing business guideline specifically addressed to foreign investors who are willing to take part of the Argentine real estate market.

The seven chapters specifically summarize all the subjects that should be considered by anyone who has the intention to invest in the local real estate. They are: (a) the structures in real estate investments, (b) implementation of the transaction, (c) corporate issues, (d) trusts, (e) currency regulation, (f) characteristics of real estate investment in Argentina, and (g) defence of competition.

This document was jointly drafted by Pedro Nicholson (Estudio Beccar Varela), Agustín Perez Cambiasso (Nicholson & Cano), Juan Manuel Quintana (Zang, Bergel & Viñes), and Diego Cavanagh (BFM&L).
